About me
Jenifer Shaud, a PhD student at Michigan Technological University. She is a dedicated educator and researcher with extensive expertise in special education and supporting students with disabilities. Jen earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in special education from Towson University, followed by a Master's degree in Teaching At-risk Youth and Reading Teacher certification from Goucher College. Her Master's research examined the impact of teaching empathy on student behavior in therapeutic school settings. Her PhD research is focused on the success and persistence of students with disabilities in higher education. She works as a research assistant on the Learning to Build on Mathematical Opportunities in Student Thinking project. She is advised by Shari Stockero.
