About me
Bob Gidcumb is a Professor of English and Communication at Bay Mills Community College, where he teaches first-year composition, research writing, public speaking, and technical communication. He holds an MA in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Creative Writing from Lindenwood University, and he is currently in the dissertation phase of a PhD in Communication Studies. His teaching and research are grounded in constructivist learning theory, particularly the work of Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, and Dewey, with a focus on student agency, revision practices, and the development of rhetorical decision-making in underprepared writers.
