About me
Thi Mai Anh Tran is an environmental and natural resource scientist and Ph.D. candidate in Forest Science at Michigan Technological University. Her research bridges Indigenous and Western sciences to strengthen forest stewardship, community resilience, and climate adaptation. In partnership with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and supported by the USDA McIntire-Stennis program, her dissertation examines Ojibwe forest relationships and climate-related change. Her broader work spans the United States, Vietnam, and South Korea, where she collaborates with Indigenous and rural communities on forest livelihoods, conservation, and adaptation. Across all her projects, she works to elevate Indigenous knowledge and co-produce science that informs equitable and sustainable natural resource governance.
